There are few things in Austin that just make living here so awesome. Here is a list of our favorites 
Restaurants:
- Taqueria Aranda’s. This hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant features fresh, delish food for almost illegally low prices.
- Maru. The best sushi in Austin, hands-down. Also the best prices. Local, family-run simple restaurant with amazing sushi!
- Uncle Billy’s. Best “Brew and ‘Que”! Super good bbq, and fun outdoor porch seating.
- there are soooo many… as I remember them I’ll add them.
Groceries:
- Wheatsville Coop. Good prices, friendly people, good food.
- SunHarvest. Two locations in Austin. Carries Buddy’s Chicken at a good price.
- Fresh Plus. No hassle, no lines, small neighborhood grocery.
Pets:
- Barn ‘n’ Purr. Little known, I was on the evening news in this store! They asked me a question about why I buy organic food for my dogs and I bumbled out something incoherent, but short enough to fit in their segment.
- TXDOT. No, I am not a fan of TXDOT. I will refrain from ranting here. But they do have a wonderful plot of land walking distance from home that is the perfect dog park
Bicycling:
- Austin Yellow Bike Project. Cyrus would be very upset if I didn’t include this
Random:
- Vitamix. I call it my blender on steroids. This thing is truly amazing. Made pumpkin soup in it today – all veggies and fruits.
